A
primary school teacher in aba, Delta State was yesterday made to
undergo a long period of frog jumps at an electronic shop around the
popular Ogbeogonogo market after a failed attempt to steal a Blackberry
phone from the shop.
Eyewitness
said the woman identified as Ngozi (surname withheld) during the
punishment meted out on her, confessed to the crime, saying her desire
for a Blackberry phone and incapability to purchase it lured her to
steal the phone.
Sources
said the woman had unsuspectingly inquired of the price of a camera
phone from the dealer and when she was told the cost of the phone, she
opted for a cheaper brand and promised to come back for the phone at
another time.
The
woman was said to have returned to the shop as promised and while she
was re-negotiating the price of the phone, the phone dealer had a phone
call and stepped aside to answer it, during which time she slipped a
Blackberry phone into her bag. She was however sighted by the dealer
while in the act.
Witnesses
said the woman made to leave the shop once her plan was perfected but
the dealer raised the alarm which attracted neighbours who found the
phone in her bag upon a search.
The woman was however rescued by security agents while she was still undergoing the frog jumps, sources said.
